Easyjet have released flights for the end of May, and a single price is about £30 to Inverness. I spoke to Mel last week (he’s now taking Gertie the dog to work on his trailer) – he’s keen to get it booked. Once they’re booked, that’s it. All seems a bit grown up now.

With 3 kids under 8, and a mail order company to run that relies wholly on the hamsters in wheels at Royal Mail, the build up to Christmas is frantic, to say the least. There’s nothing more I can do now, except hope for the best and put my feet up.

I haven’t touched my bike for 3 weeks. I’ve started to wonder if my arse still fits it, and I know the 15 miles are going to hurt. I’ve bought my son a new bike for Xmas, and, for an 8 year old he seems to have a lot of stamina, so I can see a small excursion looming.
