I’m Alastair, 37, father of Angus, Flora and Edith. Husband to Victoria.
We all live in a cottage in Gloucestershire with a cat and 3 chickens (never ask your children to name chickens. Ours are called Star Petal, Shakira and, um, Beyonce).
I own a t shirt company (www.akak.co.uk), which specialises in print-on-demand and distribution, and I’ve recently started www.spokeshirts.co.uk.

Hi Alastair,
Love the blog, and like the Spokeshirts, will be ordering some soon.
Friend of mine got his kids to name his two cats, they came up with Flap and Mando!
All the best for the ride
Steve
Hey A,
I placed an order in Dec (you know the girl who wanted a t shirt to match her bike…the orange one).
Just logged on to say a big thanks for the order, great t shirts, thank you very much!! Seriously, it made me smile when I got the package!
I was looking for somewhere on your website to say thanks, and found out about your event. As a mum of two kids, I can’t imagine what you’re family’s been through. I hope by starting your sponsorship it leads to bigger things. Good luck, wishing you all well,
Heather Heaton
P.S…Get some female hoodies!!
Hi Al,
Well I saw your T-shirt site advertised on Facebook and clicked on it straight away…because I rode a bike today for the first time in 14yrs, 22miles…Ouch!, and thought one maybe appropriate.
This has led me to the rest of your site. Wow. I’m not a parent so have even less of an idea than Heather (as above).
I thought if I gave a round figure with Gift Aid and £12.99 could buy the T, the rest to your fund?
I would LOVE to do JOGLE. Todays ride was the start of training for the London to Brighton British Heart Foundation run, so maybe JOGLE next year? Or later this year!!
Anyway, I’ll join you for updates. Liking your site! All the best both of you!
P.S. The T shirts have very male statements / blokish ‘humour’, perhaps more female friendly humour would be a grand thing
I think we have a photograph of Jessica (now aged 25) rather like you Edi at 1 year. We were on holiday in the south of France and, waiting for the flight, the people in the apartment next door let us use their patio. Jeskie crapped on it, which was a bit embarrassing…. Anyway, it makes you realise how lucky you’ve been not to have the torment you have had. Frankly, I would prefer it if you were doing these designs on “proper” cycling shirts, but it’s my birthday soon, so I will point the children this way. Despite Jessica currently challenging our finances (vet school, full fees – you have been warned), I’ll see what I can do on the giving front. Good luck with the ride
- I understand the cream you can put in your shorts is quite good. Probably best not to use the wife’s training regime….
Have dipped into your website tonight – great T shirts, if I think of any more slogans I will let you know. I think I will have to get the Velovangelist because that is def what I am!!! I also love the Pac Bike idea!
Have just started to read you JOGLE but will have to come back to it. My LEJOG was 22 years ago (I am same age as you), and if you are lucky I may share my poem I wrote at the end!
